Why did 6 Board members (Fussell, Brewer, Hale, Long, Gregory, Brown) not ratify the contract?
According to Ron Hosse, Chief Board Negotiator the reason was, “ The (6) Board members did not have a problem with Fringe Benefits article except for the Retirement Incentive. They did not seem to have a problem with the details of the incentive but they did have a problem with the fact that it is mandatory that the Retirement Incentive be offered at least once during the life of the contract whether it is financially advantageous to the school system or not.”
When do negotiations start on this matter?
Wednesday, December 16, 2009, from 4:00 – 5:00 Pm at the Board of Education meeting room.

Until SCEA knows how the Board wants this change, it is not possible to predict SCEA’s response. Once we have received the proposal, we will solicit your input and design a counter proposal.
